SkillsArk

Building a new infrastructure for understanding, evidencing and connecting human capabilities.

The curved horizon of a dark planet at first light

Context

Most of what people can actually do never makes it onto a CV. The systems that decide who gets an opportunity still lean on self-reported résumés and keyword matching - a thin, easily gamed signal for something as rich as human capability.

That gap hurts everyone. People stay invisible, employers hire on proxies, and education and guidance systems are steering without a reliable map of real skills.

What I am building

SkillsArk starts from evidence rather than claims. A person builds a capability profile backed by things that can be checked - real work, learning and verification - instead of a list of adjectives.

On the other side, an employer sees where each capability claim comes from, rather than a keyword score. The aim is a shared, portable picture of what people actually know and can do.

Why it matters

If capability can be understood and evidenced properly, opportunity can follow ability rather than pedigree. That matters for individuals, for companies trying to find the people they actually need, and for institutions that make decisions about education and work.

My involvement

I am co-founder and CEO of SkillsArk, and I write about what I learn along the way - the questions it raises about skills, evidence, trust and the future of work.
